Vitamins
are the nutrients that our body needs in order to maintain functions such as
immunity and metabolism. They are water soluble and fat soluble and are the
most important parts of our body. Fat soluble vitamins are stored in fat cells
of the body. On the other hand, water soluble vitamins are not stored in our
body. Our body takes it from the food we eat and then excrete what is not
needed as waste. Water soluble vitamins can be destroyed while they are cooked.
So, care should be taken while cooking them.
Fat
soluble vitamins include vitamin A, Vitamin D, Vitamin K and Vitamin E. Water
soluble vitamins include Thiamin, Riboflavin, Niacin, B6,B12, Biotin , Folic
acid, Pantothenic acid and Vitamin C.
